Washington State places you itself through a clinical placement coordinator, and then draws the map: direct-care placements happen only in Washington, north Idaho and northern Oregon, because that is where the university holds nursing board authorization. It also warns about a trap of its own making. WSU takes part in the Western Regional Graduate Program, which cuts tuition for students from participating states, but placement availability has nothing to do with that, so a reduced rate does not mean you can do your clinical hours at home. Three tracks run: family practice, psychiatric mental health, and a post-master’s general route. Coursework is primarily online with a limited number of in-person labs at the Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver campuses.
