DNP Programs By State
CCNE accredits 394 institutions to award the Doctor of Nursing Practice. Every US state has at least one, as do the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Why The Two Figures Differ
The first figure counts institutions CCNE lists as holding an accredited DNP. The second counts how many of those also file DNP conferrals to the federal education survey under a nursing classification at doctoral level, which is what makes tuition and conferral figures available for them.
The gap is a filing difference, not a quality difference. A school that reports its doctoral conferrals under a specialty classification, family nurse practitioner, or psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, is running the same accredited degree. Johns Hopkins, Yale, Georgetown, Northeastern and Purdue all sit in that gap.
4 jurisdictions, Alaska, Maine, Puerto Rico and Vermont, have accredited DNP programs and no federally classified ones at all. Their pages list the programs without scores rather than showing an empty table.
